Z2Data vs. SiliconExpert Who should you pick?
While most part data providers claim data coverage for billions of components, it's important to do a head-to-head comparison of their offerings in order to make an informed decision. We highly recommend evaluating both services on factors ranging from data accuracy, depth, ease of use and customer service.

Who has the better part coverage?
In a head-to-head comparison, we suggest uploading a test Bill of Material to measure which company can provide data for the most number of components. The company that can provide data for the most number of parts should be awarded more points in your comparison. Keep in mind that data on components can be provided as "Exact Matches" and "Similar Matches". Exact Matches refers to part numbers that match perfectly with your uploaded Bill of Materials. Similar Matches refers to part numbers that might have more than one possible match and you need to select a match before either company can provide data.

Which solution has the most part data depth?
Part Data Depth refers to how much data can be provided on each component. In your analysis, it will be important to measure which solution provides the most amount of information such as Current Lifecycle Status, Part Selection Risk Scores, RoHS Compliance, REACH Documentation, Lifecycle Forecasts, Cross References and Replacements, Market Availability, Product Change Notices and more. We suggest compiling a list of data points that are important to you, then analyzing how many of these data points were provided by each solution for parts in the comparison bill of material.

Does Z2Data have more accurate data or SiliconExpert?
While part coverage and depth are important, it is even more important to assess accuracy of the data provided. With your uploaded bill-of-material, we suggest analyzing if there are differences between the data provided by both Z2Data or SiliconExpert. And if there are differences, who was correct? Did one solution state a part's lifecycle was "Active" while the other stated it was "Obsolete"? If so, what documentation is provided by either solution for the lifecycle statuses. Finding out accuracy scores is an important measure to understanding which solution is better.

Which solution is easier to use?
A friendly and easy-to-navigate software solution is ideal when deploying an electronic part database solution. We suggest providing free trials to multiple users in your company, then asking your colleagues to rate the ease-of-use of both solutions. Which solution was easier to navigate? Was data easily accessible or did they get stuck at certain points in the tool? These are important considerations to make during the head-to-head comparison.

Which company provides better customer support?
While most companies make claims about great customer service, the only way to truly know is to test the response during a head-to-head comparison. We suggest opening Support Tickets in both Z2Data and SiliconExpert then measuring the timeliness and accuracy of the response from both company's customer support teams. Which solution offered the fastest response that solved the problem?
