The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) went into effect on June 21, 2022, and supports US Customs and Board Patrol’s (CBP’s) enforcement of Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. § 1307), which prohibits the importation of goods made wholly or in part by forced labor.

The UFLPA prohibits the importation of goods made by forced labor or child labor, focusing on goods from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) in China. Learn more about the UFLPA regulation here.

The CBP has employed a risk-based approach that prioritizes the highest-risk goods imported directly from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, or Xinjiang, into the United States and from entities on the UFLPA Entity List. The UFLPA Strategy addresses the topics prescribed by the legislation.

The ever-changing landscape of global regulations can expose your organization to potential risks that can threaten your business continuity and reputation.
