See what each supplier is willing to share. Z2 Supplier Insights rates disclosure of compliance data, manufacturing locations, and partnerships so you know which vendors are open and which are hiding the ball.
Überblick
Transparency Score, part of Z2 Supplier Insights, measures how forthcoming a supplier is with the information you need to assess risk: regulatory and compliance records, manufacturing locations, and supply chain partnerships. When a supplier refuses to disclose, that reluctance is itself a signal. Z2 captures it as a 5-star score and folds it into overall risk, so opaque vendors surface before an audit exposes them.
Many suppliers hold data back, and compliance information is the most common thing they keep confidential. That reluctance is rarely neutral: a supplier unwilling to share regulatory status, where they manufacture, or who their partners are may be concealing exposure you would rather find now than during a regulator request or customer audit. Within Supplier Insights, data transparency is one of eight categories feeding the 0 to 100 supplier risk score, so low disclosure lowers overall standing and gives teams a fast read on how much each supplier leaves in the dark.
Transparency Score appears as a 5-star rating in Supplier Insights. A five-star supplier is fully forthcoming, with compliance records, manufacturing sites, and partner relationships documented and reflected in Z2's data. As disclosure thins out, the rating drops, so you can rank a vendor list from most to least open at a glance. Because it sits next to financial, ESG, and sanctions data in the same profile, you can see whether a transparency gap lines up with other risk or stands alone as a reason to dig deeper.
A low score is a starting point, not a dead end. Z2 can contact suppliers on your behalf to request specific information, and your team can survey suppliers directly in the tool, store the documentation they return, and track completion across projects. A supplier that still refuses to disclose even for private review warrants investigation, and that refusal is captured in the score. Over time you can prioritize outreach to the vendors dragging your portfolio down and watch the score improve.
