Overview
The Technology Module is a premium add-on to Z2 Part Risk Manager. It classifies every part in your BOM by process technology and packaging, gives each one a risk level based on where that technology sits in its own lifecycle, and surfaces crosses that are pre-filtered to newer alternatives. Technology risk becomes something you can filter and act on inside PRM, instead of a question you have to research part by part.
Every part carries the technology it is built on, and that technology has a lifecycle of its own. The module gives each one a stage, so a part that is active in the market but sitting on declining process technology stops looking safe. Filter your BOM by stage to see how much of your product depends on technology that is already moving on.
Technology risk is not only about the die. A package that just one manufacturer provides is a single point of failure whether or not the part itself looks healthy. Z2 tells you which packages are widely adopted across the industry and which are effectively sole sourced, and which parts in your BOM depend on each.
When a part sits on technology that is winding down, the useful question is what to move to. Select the crosses on any part and the list arrives already filtered to alternatives on newer technology, alongside the manufacturer recommendation where one exists.
