The Problem

Your BOM has risks
you haven't found yet.

Electronics manufacturers manage thousands of component types across multiple product lines. A single EOL part can halt an entire production run — but manufacturers typically find out from a last-time-buy email, not from their own intelligence.

  • Obsolescence is discovered reactively — via supplier emails or distributor alerts — weeks before the window closes
  • Risk is siloed across engineering, procurement, and supply chain, with no shared source of truth
  • Manual BOM scrubbing takes days per product revision, and misses lifecycle status changes between reviews
  • Replacement part qualification is guesswork without parametric cross-reference or compliance data alongside it

BOM Intelligence

Upload a BOM.
Get risk scores in minutes.

Drop a BOM file in any format — spreadsheet, CSV, ERP export — and Z2 instantly cross-references every line item against 1B+ component records. Each MPN gets a composite risk score weighted by lifecycle stage, inventory availability, lead time, and single-source exposure.

  • Composite Part Risk Score from 6 sub-scores: Obsolescence, Compliance, Market Availability, Technology, Multi-Sourcing, and Supplier financial health
  • Accepts any BOM format — CSV, Excel, Agile, Arena, SAP exports — no column mapping or template required
  • 3-tier Cross-Reference system: Drop-In A (exact), Drop-In B (minor parametric differences), Drop-In C (major) — with RoHS/REACH pre-checked on every match
  • BOM Lifecycle Forecast shows the projected arc of your entire BOM — how many active parts remain in 2, 5, and 10 years
  • Export everything to PLM, ERP, or Excel — or pull via API into your own toolchain

Lifecycle Intelligence

Know about EOL
two years before it's urgent.

Z2 continuously tracks lifecycle transitions across every manufacturer in our database — Active, NRND, EOL, and LTB — and maps every change directly to the parts in your BOM. When a status shifts, your team is notified instantly, with context: how many BOMs are affected, what the LTB window is, and which alternates are already qualified.

  • Continuous monitoring — status changes trigger alerts within hours, not quarters
  • Historical lifecycle data shows predicted NRND and EOL dates 12–36 months in advance
  • LTB window tracking with countdown — know exactly how many days until the buy window closes
  • Automatic alternate identification when a part goes NRND — parametric match with compliance pre-checked

Who It's For

One platform.
Every team that touches parts.

Part Risk Manager is used by engineering, supply chain, and operations teams — often all three, working from the same data.

Design Engineering
Make better design decisions, earlier.

When you're choosing components for a new design, you need to know if a part will be available in three years when you're at volume — not just today. Z2 gives you lifecycle intelligence at the point of selection.

  • Check lifecycle status before placing a component in a new BOM
  • Find drop-in alternates with parametric matching and compliance pre-checked
  • Score BOMs during design review — catch risk before it's locked in silicon
Supply Chain Management
Protect production. Buy at the right time.

You're accountable when production stops. Z2 gives you the advance warning you need to open LTB positions, qualify alternates, and brief leadership — without waiting for engineering to flag it.

  • LTB countdown timers with recommended buy quantities based on forecasted demand
  • Multi-BOM risk view — see which products share vulnerable components
  • Executive risk summary reports — one click, ready for the board
Compliance & Quality
Stay ahead of regulation changes.

Every time a component transitions to NRND or EOL, your compliance posture may shift. Z2 maps lifecycle changes to your RoHS, REACH, and PFAS coverage — so you know exactly where gaps have opened up.

  • Compliance status tracked alongside lifecycle — never lose coverage when you swap a part
  • Automatic re-check of alternates for RoHS, REACH, TSCA, and PFAS before qualifying
  • Audit-ready documentation for every lifecycle change and alternate qualification decision
What Engineers Are Saying

Z2Data saves me a minimum of 10 hours a week — and that's just in my role. It touches all aspects of the component, from design to manufacturing. It not only saves me time but also that of the regulatory compliance, procurement, and design teams. Each department saves so much time using the platform.

The Alternative

Reactive procurement
vs. component intelligence.

Most teams discover risk from a supplier email. By then, the window to act has already narrowed.

The Old Way
EOL discovered via supplier email
Teams learn about part discontinuances days or weeks before the LTB window closes — often from a mailing list, not a monitored data feed
Manual BOM scrubs take days
Each BOM review requires an engineer to manually check distributor sites, datasheets, and compliance docs — 3–4 days per revision
Risk is siloed across teams
Engineering, supply chain, and compliance each maintain separate spreadsheets. No shared view. Decisions made on stale or incomplete data
Alternates qualify slowly under pressure
Finding a replacement part under a closing LTB window means rushed qualification, compliance shortcuts, and re-design risk
With Z2 Part Risk Manager
EOL flagged 12–24 months in advance
Z2's lifecycle forecasting algorithms predict NRND and EOL transitions before manufacturers announce them — mapped to your BOM automatically
Full BOM scored in under 4 hours
Upload any BOM format — Z2 returns composite risk scores, lifecycle forecasts, and ranked alternates without any manual research
One platform for all three teams
Engineering, supply chain, and compliance share a single source of truth. Alerts route to the right team automatically — no shared inbox that gets ignored
Alternates pre-qualified with compliance included
When a part goes NRND, Z2 instantly surfaces Drop-In A, B, and C alternates with parametric match scores and RoHS/REACH status already verified

Common Questions
What BOM formats does Z2 accept?

Any format — CSV, Excel, or direct export from Agile, Arena, SAP, and other PLM/ERP systems. The minimum requirement is a column with MPNs and a column with manufacturer names. Z2 auto-detects column headers and normalizes the data automatically. No template required.

Is my BOM data secure?

Yes. Z2Data is SOC 2 Type I and Type II certified and undergoes multiple independent penetration tests each year. Your BOM data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not share or sell customer data.

Can we access component data via API?

Yes. All component data, lifecycle status, risk scores, and BOM analysis results are accessible via Z2's REST API. Data is also exportable in CSV and Excel formats for integration with your PLM, ERP, or internal toolchain.

Can Part Risk Manager be used standalone without other Z2 products?

Yes. Each Z2 module works as a standalone product. Start with Part Risk Manager and add Compliance Manager, Supply Chain Watch, or Sub-Tier Intelligence as your program matures. The underlying data layer is shared across all modules — additional products multiply the intelligence of those you already have.
